Dear Delegates,
It is indeed my pleasure and honor to welcome you to High School Model United Nations 2011! My name is Michael, the Secretary-General of HSMUN 2011. I major in law, and would become a junior this fall. International issues and related discussions are those I have been highly interested in. I became a member of National Taiwan University MUN Society as a freshman, and the Deputy-Secretary-General a year after. I also have great passion for clever movies, easy music and interesting people.
You might find it quite surprising that I was in fact a member of HSMUN as well like you do, back in the summer of 2008. That is how I entered the world of MUN, in a way which started out with uncertainty and curiosity, yet makes me carry on with passion. At HSMUN I experienced exciting games and a charming soiree. At HSMUN I survived one of the most heated debates. At HSMUN I met some best friends ever. Since then I have set off on the path of Model UN, embracing challenges and fascinating moments of all kinds, throughout National MUN, Pan Asia MUN and WorldMUN. From a delegate to an organizer, I have my voice heard during sessions, and further get a full picture of MUN conferences.
Here at HSMUN 2011 you are to be led to a whole new world, from conferences to games, from professional lectures to an enchanting soiree. Yet these would not be all you get to experience after the four days. It is our deepest hope that each and every delegate enjoys utmost care and respect. HSMUN shall offer you the most comfortable environment to initiate mutual understanding through ideas exchange, in other words, to meet with distinguished friends of a lifetime. This is exactly what the staff has been working tirelessly for, to provide you with an unparalleled conference experience.
Let’s hope to meet real soon at HSMUN 2011. It is bound to be a fantastic summer!
